A checklist of the foundational governance items every League needs to do basic League business.
Below is a list of all foundational governance documents that Leagues need to function. This includes important tax documents, annual filings, program documents, and more. League leaders are encouraged to use this list to ensure their League business is in compliance with federal and state law, as well as LWV organizational standards.
All information for this checklist was pulled from the IRS, League Management Site, and nonprofit industry resources. Links to sources are in the checklist, but the following can help expand or refresh your knowledge of these important governance pieces.

While these are extraordinary times, there are meetings that we must conduct to keep business moving forward. Those that have legal implications, such as annual meetings and state conventions/councils, require some additional preparations to ensure their validity when conducting them in a virtual setting.
